The AGP Fullview Series operable glass facade is structurally supported
entirely by glass fi ns to provide optimum clarity and unobstructed vision.
It was a design concept by Italian architect Renzo Piano for the Macquarie
Apartments in Sydney. It is the fi rst building in the world to have a fully
operable glass facade that is structurally supported entirely by glass.
For optimum clarity and unobstructed vision, the glass fi ns run the full
height of the facade on the front edge of the building. The glass facade
is motorised to fully open in fi ne weather and provide protection from
the environment in inclement weather. The operable louvres can open
or close in just fi ve seconds. It enables habitation of the balcony spaces
all year round, by acting as a screen wall that provides protection from
the elements and diminishes noise from city traffi c.
